It’s my turn! If you missed Bear’s list of her Fall favorites, you can read it HERE. There’s lots of reasons to love Fall-football, falling leaves, the crisp air, and of course, the fashion! Here are my three essentials for this time of year.
1. EVERYTHING PLAID: Lets face it, plaid never really goes out of style. Its worked for Burberry how long??? But this fall it seems like it’s in full effect and better than ever. I have a few pieces already in my wardrobe like my NorthFace vest (old, similar HERE)that goes great with boots and jeans at the horse show or paired with some skinnies and my favorite Converses.
I recently purchased a few items to add to my growing plaid craze. The second pic in the collage below is a true vintage button down which I bought at one of my favorite stores on the planet, The Gypsy Wagon. The original store is in Dallas and they opened a second location in Crested Butte, CO. It’s ahrd to explain how cool this store is, you have to visit in person or at least shop the website HERE. They had both women’s and men’s vintage shirts and each is an one of a kind. They are also washed in this vintage laundry wash that smells so heavenly that I bought some of that too!
The last pic is a cape that I found on a recent shopping trip during a cousins reunion weekend in Grand Rapids,MI. My cousins Mieka and Haley share in the same shopping habit of mine so naturally when I needed something to wear to the reunion party, they were happy to help! They took me to Evereve. I’ve never heard of this store but instantly loved it! I not only found a dress to wear but this chic cape. The plaid resembles a “certain” plaid without the hefty price tag. (only $58!!!!) Find it HERE!
I’ve gone a little cray cray with my pinning lately. (Follow me HERE.) Below are a few plaid looks that I’m loving right now…..
2. MOTO JACKET: I’ve had my NorthFace moto jacket (below-left-old, similar HERE) for a couple years now and it’s one of my favorites. I’ve decided it’s time to upgrade to a leather number like the one I found recently (bottom right) by BCBG. (Find it HERE) It’s a little pricy but I think well worth it. The fit was perfect and the color-beautiful! As I’m writing this, I’m kicking myself for not buying it that day, but I hope to find it again and maybe if I’m lucky it will be on sale!
3. BOOTS, BOOTS, AND MORE BOOTS: I usually kick off the fall season by purchasing a new pair of boots. The hard part? Deciding which height, to the knee, over the knee, booties, moto boots…..Yikes!! Boot overload! Going clockwise below- My newly purchased booties by Free People (find them HERE) lace up booties (old, similar HERE) by Elizabeth & James, two-toned booties (old, similar HERE) by Two Lips, riding boot by Donald Pliner (on my wish list, find them HERE) and my Uggs. (very old)
My favorite trend in boots for fall is the over the knee flat boot. I’ve found several that I like HERE. I’m LONG over due for a new pair of Uggs, mine are at least 5 years old. Neiman Marcus now offers monogramming on many of their Uggs like the ones below. How cute is that?? I see a pair of these in my near future.
The weather is finally starting to cool down here in Texas! Soon we will be complaining that it’s too cold but for the moment, I can’t wait to enjoy all my new fall fashion finds. What are some of yours??
