The Breeder’s Invitational is one of NCHA premier events and is held in Tulsa, Oklahoma each year. In the first ten years the BI has paid out nearly 15 million, thus a VERY important show to all that compete as well as mare owners and stallion owners. The Expo Square, where the BI is held, went through many major renovations years back and has become one of the favorite venues on the horse show calendar.

Who needs Vegas??? Gaming in Oklahoma is a major attraction and Tulsa boasts many of the state’s best casinos! So if you have that itch for “WHEEL OF FORTUNE!!!!” like myself, (I swear that machine gets me every time!), Check out……
If you need to entertain the little ones, I highly suggest…..
You know that I can’t leave a city without a little retail therapy! I have been coming to Tulsa for horse shows for many, many years and one of my favorite shopping districts has been Utica Square. Shop, dine, and walk around this beautiful upscale outdoor shopping center- A must stop for the foodie and shopaholic like myself. Drysdales is one of the best western stores if you need to stock up on some jeans. They always have every brand and tons of great selections! I also have a few spots on the my radar that will be new to me such as Cherry Street, Brady Arts District, and Brookside. I’ll be sure to share some of my “finds.”
I’m sure most of you know that I love trying new restaurants and revisiting old faithfuls! The first day of the show was my birthday and not only did my wonderful boyfriend surprise me with a new horse (take a little note fellas)…
But, we also dined at one of my favorite steak houses in Tulsa, Flemings. I have never had a bad meal here and my steak was one of the best I’ve had in awhile! Note- I’m slightly addicted to any kind of mac and cheese(like most people) so don’t miss the chipotle mac and cheese!!
I have been doing a bit of research to find a few new spots and I discovered an article with a list of the 10 must-eat restaurants in Tulsa. I haven’t been to any of them yet, so I’ll let you know whether they are a hit or a miss!
The BI runs until the 24th of May, so stay tuned for all my updates and fun things happening around the show!! And be sure to take a little time to enjoy Tulsa…
