Thankfully this years Breeders Invitational wasn’t referred to as “The Tornado Invitational” as it was last year. We were lucky to have great weather with even a few mornings and nights that a jacket was needed, a bit crazy for May! But I’ll take it! The BI is a lengthy show, but most days ended early enough to allow some time to catch up with friends and enjoy some down time.
The BI kids cutting put on by Jan Seago is always the hit of the show! This year there were over 40 kiddos that participated! All ages and sizes took part, and everyone received an awesome load of goodies. No winners or losers here, just good ol’ family fun with lots of ear to ear grins from everyone involved! I have to say that watching both my nieces cut with their daddy brought tears to my eyes…….I’m a sucker for kids and their love of the horse!
I watched a lot of great runs during the BI. With all the stiff competition and high scores it made for a very tough cutting. Congratulations to all the winners and finalist! Here are the results and thank you Dawn Baxstrom for all the amazing pics!!
Amid all the great competition and family fun, we were tragically reminded just how precious life is with the passing of Amy Bell. Amy was beloved by all who knew her and always had a smile on her face. Her love of not only family and friends, but of the horse was always apparent. Amy will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with her entire family.
