If you’ve been following our saga here at the Bear and the Bird, you know we were bummed when our favorite show shirt brand, Barranada, closed up shop. You can read all about it in our first Western Wednesday post here. Well, we’re still sad, but our spirits have been lifted because we’ve found some great new shirt brands that may fill the void left by our beloved Barranada.
So far, in Part I of our Search for “The” Shirt, we found Miller Ranch brand shirts. They have a great price point, some beautiful color options, and a flattering fit. In Part II, we fell in love with CR RanchWear. Their fabric choices, crystal details, french cuffs, and customization options make them a new favorite for sure. And now, in Part III, we think we have found a third beautiful, unique shirt brand to add to your show collection-Georg Roth Los Angeles.
When I was working on last week’s Western Wednesday post about the store Cares & Whoas, manager Erica Rubalcaba mentioned she had seen our post about looking for show shirts and suggested I try George Roth. I had seen them on her Facebook page, and even on a few friends in the cutting pen, and was excited to finally try them on. Erica was nice enough to mail me a few so I could get some photos for you all. Behold Christa and I in all of our modeling glory….
After trying these on, there are two things that really stood out. 1. The fabric-It is a thin cotton blend with a lot of stretch. It feels amazing to the touch and even better on. This would make an excellent summer show shirt. 2. The unique cuffs and collar accents-this is what really sets these shirts apart. The floral and watercolor cuffs and collar make a simple shirt unique and stylish. You can also see the patterned shirts have even more unique contrasting cuffs and collars. So cool.
The Georg Roth shirts were fitted, but comfortable. The sleeves were plenty long, and they stayed tucked in well. Without seeing the shirt, I thought the $139 price point was a bit high. However, after seeing these in person, trying them on, and feeling the fabric, it’s obvious this is more than your everyday button down shirt. They quality and unique style really make Georg Roth shirts a standout, The pink one was the winner of the day, and is going on my wish list for sure!
Well, my panic has been calmed. We have three great options for those of you looking to expand your show pen wardrobe. Thanks to Miller Brand, CR RanchWear, and Georg Roth, there will be no topless cutting any time soon. Phew! If you find any great new brands, let us know!
