Trying our best to be somewhat organized newbie bloggers, we had a detailed post planned for our first Western Wednesday declaring our love and devotion for our beloved Barranada shirts. We both almost exclusively wear Barranada in the show pen. The fit, the colors, and the fabrics are second to none. Small details like the french cuffs and subtle textures make you feel like you are wearing a custom made shirt. They also have the essential tiny bit of extra length that keeps you from constantly tucking in the back of your shirt while you ride. It’s the little things, people.
Well, imagine our disappointment on Sunday when Barranada’s owner, the wonderful Barbara Graves, posted on Facebook that Barranada was no longer in business. You can read Barbara’s message to her customers here. Well, dang it. Not only will we have to take special care of our Barranada collection, we now have to find a replacement for the perfect show shirt. Seriously, they were perfect. Just look at the colors and special details in this collage of Barranada faboulousness.
More proof of our love for these shirts…and it’s not just us, many of our friends are devotees too!
OK, so it’s obvious there are more than a few of us that are now on the hunt for our next favorite show shirt. We’ll keep you posted as we search. McKenzie M. will be in Texas at the NCHA Super Stakes and McKenzie P. will be in Las Vegas at the NRCHA Stakes. We’re bound to find a few contenders at these shows, right?
There are two brands that we have our eyes on so far. Have you heard of CR Ranch Wear? We’ve seen many people wearing them at cuttings, and they have some beautiful looking fabrics, cool patterns, crystal detailing, and the french cuffs we love. Here’s a photo of Megan Miller wearing hers….looks good right? We’ll definitely be trying these.
Another brand that we want to try is Miller Ranch, and specifically this shirt. The color is so pretty, and the fit looks good as well. This shirt also comes in a lavender and a coral that look promising. Fingers crossed!
That’s all we have so far. Our tried and trusted Barranadas will continue to be worn and loved, but it’s time for us to branch out. Help us out! What’s your go-to shirt for the show pen?
